In a vast and lonely desert, two women meet under strange circumstances. After some introductory abnormalities, they begin planting things in the sand for strangers to find. This quick cursory description only begins to describe the magical surreal world conjured by filmmakers Alexandra Kotcheff and Hannah Leder. The two not only wrote, directed and star in this dark comedy, but they also cast and handled the location scouting and production design of the feature film. This unconventional collaboration has created a one-of-a-kind cinematic landscape. Peppered with oddball characters, unique locations and a strange world view, THE PLANTERS celebrates all that is odd in the world and creates a unusual world all its own.\
