Marjorie Williams, Senior Business Affairs Executive, Amazon Studios

Marjorie recently joined Amazon Studios as Senior Business Affairs Executive, Scripted TV. She joined from United Talent Agency where she negotiated UTA client deals across the agency’s various departments (i.e. TV Lit, Alternative, Talent, Podcasts, Media Rights and Voiceovers & Endorsements). Prior to UTA, Marjorie was VP, Business & Legal Affairs at Endemol Shine, where she handled development and production matters for Endemol’s US and LATAM teams (incl. working on the deal that brought “Utopia” to Amazon). Prior to that, she was Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs at Comedy Central where at the time, she was one of a handful of Viacom attorneys primarily focused on new media transactions across SVOD/AVOD and other digital platforms (e.g. Sirius XM and Snapchat). Marjorie began her career at BET Networks where she worked on shows such as “The Game”, “Being Mary Jane”, the “BET Awards” and “Sunday Best”. Marjorie holds a B.A. from Howard University, M.A. from the University of Oklahoma, J.D. from Loyola Law School, and an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. She is also a Major in the Air Force Reserves with 20+ years of combined active duty and reserve service.

Lisa Davis, Partner, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC

Lisa E. Davis is a partner in Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC’s Entertainment Group representing businesses and celebrities in the film, television, publishing, music, theatre, and sports industries. She is recognized in Variety’s 2020 Legal Impact Report, Best Lawyers in America 2020 (Entertainment), by City & State as one of New York’s “Responsible 100” (2019), by the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association (2019 Beacon of Industry Award), by Crain’s New York Business 2017 as a “Leading Woman Lawyer in NYC”, by The National Law Journal (“Outstanding Women Lawyers” 2015), by Savoy magazine in their “Most Influential Black Lawyers of 2015,” and in Variety’s “Power of Women New York Impact Report” (2014). Ms. Davis advises on a full range of transactional matters - focusing on film (both feature and documentary), television, publishing, live stage and branded entertainment. Ms. Davis represents directors, writers and performers in film and television, as well as playwrights and bloggers. In her sports practice, she represents top athletes in their “off the field” activities, including endorsements and investments. Ms. Davis is chair of the board of the Urbanworld Film Festival Foundation. Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, she clerked for the Honorable Constance Baker Motley in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Davis is a graduate of Harvard University (BA, 1981) and New York University (JD, 1985), where she was a staff member of the New York University Law Review and a Root-Tilden scholar. She is admitted to practice in New York.

Jamice Oxley, Counsel, Pryor Cashman, LLP

Jamice Oxley is currently Counsel at Pryor Cashman, a New York based full-service entertainment firm. She practices in the firm’s LA office. As a member of Pryor Cashman’s Intellectual Property, Technology, Digital Media, Corporate and Media & Entertainment Practice Groups, Jamice provides strategic counsel to media companies, social media platforms, digital and technology conglomerates, streamers, traditional film and television production companies and studios, music companies, brands and content creators in film, television, music, marketing, advertising, digital media, video games and book publishing. Jamice also advises new businesses and entrepreneurs. She helps them protect their emerging and established intellectual property rights, and manages their complex business transactional matters.  Prior to joining Pryor Cashman, Jamice worked alongside noted entertainment lawyer, Bonnie Berry LaMon, at B2L Entertainment Law Group, a boutique entertainment talent firm representing clients in digital media, music, film and television transactions. Jamice has also held positions at business litigation firm, Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the Directors Guild of America, Inc. (DGA) and Warner Bros. Entertainment. Jamice holds a Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola Law School and dual Bachelors Degrees from Yale University in American Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Lawrence is COO and General Counsel of UrbanflixTV, Inc., a subscription-based streaming service and production company which offers online streaming of a library of feature films, scripted series, unscripted shows, short films, documentaries and more. UrbanflixTV is dedicated to creating original programming as well as acquiring exclusive content that is in line with its goal to provide to its viewers unique stories and content with diverse casts, storytellers and themes. Immediately prior to UrbanflixTV, Lawrence was a Partner at Fox Rothschild, LLP where he served as Chair of its Entertainment Litigation Practice Group. At that firm, he represented institutional and individual clients in a wide range of entertainment and litigation proceedings as well as in the capacity of outside general counsel.
Lawrence has extensive experience representing a wide range of clients in the music, film, television and other entertainment-related fields including major entertainment and media companies such as film studios, television networks, record labels and music publishing companies. He has also represented actors, writers, directors, producers, recording artists, talent agents and agencies, business and personal managers and management companies, musicians, models, production and distribution companies, investors, entertainment guilds and many other individuals and companies.
